We've always charged the full amount for MOTs and tried to tell customers who go for the cheap test their vehicle will more than likely fail as they have to try and make some money from somewhere. However of late this has not worked and even long standing customers have been going for the £25.00 MOT or even cheaper. So against the grain we have dropped to £40.00 and advertised the fact. It's too early to tell if it's pulling in punters yet but what I do know from the girls on reception we get a lot more people asking the price of our MOTs before booking. When it was at £54.00 they were saying thank you before putting the phone down. Looking at our stats we are up on last years takings overaul but down on the number of MOTs I couldn't go as low as £25.00 but we have to do something. Question is when the MOT Test changes in January with more things to check the test will take even longer. Ho Hum times are changing.
