Hi All, The main problem with attracting good quality people into the automotive repair business is simple. Modern vehicles are very complex machines which require a fair degree of intelligence and dedication to repair and service. If you've got the brains and drive to do it well, you can get a much better paid job with better prospects in many other fields. The same goes for college teachers, the IMI magazine carried an ad recently for a college lecturer in MV studies. The starting pay was about £10,000 less than my daughter is earning in her 1st job after University.
