    I usually give 12 months or 12,000 miles unless the part(s) are guaranteed for a longer or shorter period by the manufacturer.

    I have very few comebacks and when I do I immediately inform the customer of the warranty situation and that, subject to inspection, they are covered.

    They are amazed by the no-conflict approach and appreciate not having their intelligence insulted!

    This only works with customers who have intelligence in the first place and that detection process was one of the hardest things to learn.

    If I did not have this attitude I would lose business since most of mine has come from recommendation - word spreads both ways!
