Consumption-based emissions are: production-based emissions – embedded CO2 in exported goods + embedded CO2 in imported goods. Turns out that Higher Income Countries with 16% of global population have 46% of the share of consumption based emissions. Of course the data does not show the consumption based emissions for the richest individuals within the HICs and globally.
