Thanks Itchy,
Check out the history of nearly every public health measure ever taken, you'll find there was significant opposition. I gave you an example of lead in petrol. You could add compulsory seat belts You could add speed limits, You could alcohol legislation.
This is just another example of so many prior examples of trying to improve the health of the populace through legislation and action and you are batting against it, as all these prior measures were at the time. . I'm afraid you're on the wrong side of history, or at least I am truly hopeful you are. The world and London and its workers are not going to collapse because the worst polluting vehicles are going to be taken off the road but we'll ultimately collapse if we don't
Here's Monbiot on the new oil and gas exploration licenses in the North Sea. You can't drive a car with an ICE without needing oil. The science is clear - OUR CIVILISATION CANNOT SURVIVE DIGGING UP MORE NEW OIL OR COAL AND BURNING IT. We cannot afford even to burn what oil we already know is there. Your working people are not just polluting and damaging the health of themselves and their own neighbours, which doesn't seem to concern you, but also the whole planet. I mean, what does it take for folk to understand what's happening??
