More importantly, in this environment, do you think they actually raised that much money for Student Empowerment, Workforce Development and Community Programs (the 3 pillars or priorities of the campaign)? Of course not. The total that was announced was simply a total amount of different funding sources that were bundled together to make the campaign seem successful and be able to wrap it up and move on.
It's obvious you don't really understand all these issues, but you are willing to blindly defend whatever you believe.
Is it June 30th? Come on, be real. People here are always negative. Since I have been aware, there has never been a $311,000,000+ donation total EVER. Let's focus on that.
Again, show me where there is a specific description of what was raised. The only thing that exists is a statement that the campaign was successful and that a report would come after the June 30th close. There has never been such a report. Those amounts have never been reported as required, because the breakdown of how they arrived at that $300M is embarassing and misleading.
You bunch of negative people can't even admit they raised over $310 MILLION dollars. What I think it is is that you don't even know this happened, leading to my main point that a majority of you are so uniformed and prefer to be negative.
I think jwe39 wins this argument, clearest he has been to date..
i think hw qA EWDWEEINF TO THE PAST SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE ----------------
She can't dress like a President of a Major University either. BTW Fire Negative Nancy comments went out with Bonanza, Gun Smoke and all the other Westerns in the 60's and early 70's.
Jane can barely walk, much less run circles around anyone.
You speak the coded language of what you perceive as meritocracy. You do understand there is criteria to enter this institution that is not changeable? Jane can run circles around anyone here on the board. Talking to her and understanding the circumstance and limitations of the playing field are different than understanding what is possible. She works hard for us, some people here do not show any appreciation on her decade of accomplishments and are negative nancy's.
Big,
You know I've tried to be very respectful to you since we had a run-in a couple of years ago. So, I'm going to try to be as balanced as I can here. Hope you appreciate that.
A few things:
- I think it is a commendable thing that Long Beach St. is recognized as an institution that provides social mobility to local citizens, often communities that have not historically had good enough representation. I'm proud that my alma mater is recognized for that.
- You don't have to be an administrator or educator to have an opinion on what's going on at Long Beach State.
- Some people might be concerned with meritocracy. That's a valid concern. Good people can have opinions on both sides, but that doesn't make them bad people.
I think Long Beach St. can be a force for good in our community. Oh, and I think Jane sucks.
Dr. C is doing a fine job. All people here, including myself, cannot hold a candle to her. We are very lucky to have her leading us for many reasons.
Great notice listed below. LBSU is also hard to get into. As much as many on this board do not like Jane, she is the leader of the school and deserves the credit for its ranking. Leadership starts at the top.
