I sometime feel like the "Lone Ranger" here as a often time try to defend the school and administration side of things. I, like you, would like see a number of things done differently , but a lot of what you are saying is caused by a lack of funding and staff. I think that all of you know that both LBS and all of the Cal. State University system are under a major economic strain. It takes people do do many of the things that are not being done today or need to be done better,AND it takes MONEY to hire and retain those people.
In addition to being underfunded and understaffed, we have also had the problem of retaining staff as they are attracted to higher paying jobs at other schools or in other work environments. We have been blessed to be able to hire qualified, and hardworking people in the past, only to lose them to better opportunities elsewhere.
I do not have an answer, but I do not want to cast too much of a blame on those who are working so hard to keep LBS at the level that we want it to be at. I do see a light at the end of the tunnel, but right now that light is dim and the tunnel is very long!!! PLEASE try to hang on and make LBS the institution and program that we all want it to be!!!
