I correct myself from earlier, the Mountain West must add members or get an exception to get it's auto invites in all sports once the 4 teams leave. Action of some kind must happen.
Cal Poly and Davis are no where near joining the MW. Neither has the financies to increase football-MW's main sport. Hawaii is also limited but might be pressured for other sports besides football to keep an 8 team league. Again, can Hawaii afford increase travel in sports other than football. Why would Sac St. be a better choice than San Jose as a northern CA rep and they have ready been rejected. UNLV is a logical choice due to size, location and growing major sports moving inot the area. I think Pac 12 is waiting to see if Stanford and Cal want back in. If not they will look for the greenest pastures.
SAC is broke, but local politicians in the capital are speaking up, and AD commented a stadium proposal was in works last year ... could be interesting.

I'd be fine adding SJSU, the market and Davis travel partner seem logical. I think the stadium "remodel" was a ploy to tear down the aging stadium and cut football. They'll announce it as a hazard, similar to Hawaii. But will turn the stadium into a downsized soccer/FCS stadium.
Last round of realignment really was above the Big West's pay grade. This could have some implications.
One more school leaving sets off the full scramble. UNLV is gaining momentum and is the next biggest historical name. Air Force is a compliment to Colorado State.
MW are running out of options with NIL era pressures, and everyone gun shy of joining a failing conference. First call is probably to the NMSU/UTEP contingent. Pressure then falls to Hawaii, either to full MW member, but maybe they are a longshot Pac-12 member. FCS callups aren't great, maybe the Montanas and Dakotas all decide to leap, and maybe that is the best case for current MW staying at FBS, more at a MAC level than battling with American for best next conference. Does Idaho have any nostalgia? Sac is in talks for shared stadium with soccer, but broke.
LB probably isn't in these talks at any capacity. Cal Poly, Davis, Hawaii probably held emergency meetings to discuss options if approached.
Not in football, only all other sports.
SJSU to Big West
Sucks for Mountain West. They were gaining ground now they will probably be bigwest+.
