Every school generates revenue but a limited few make a profit. That is why they call in revenue sharing and not profit sharing.
Revenue sharing is almost a non starter. I don't see how that can be enforced at the majority of institutions. They don't make revenue.
I also donate to the Athletic foundation and attended games-buy tickets. NIL is not only going to be problem for other than the power conferences (at least for some of them), but revenue sharing is right around the corner along with collective bargaining. We will see how things shake out for college sports, other than the power guys in the next few years. College sports will not go away but I predict two levels of college sports. The pro power conferences and all the others where an education and sport participation will continue with a little compensation. Finances will force both to happen.
I agree. I'll go to games, and make donations to the department directly, not to athletes pockets.
I got the 'Alliance' email. I won't be joining this alliance or donating any money to NIL. I understand its the landscape and if people want to donate to it, go for it. I'll continue to support scholarships and other things for the general athletics support.
How many of you have received the solicitation for NIL money
?
