The NCAA is playing catch up. Football is a prime example. You can enter the portal before the bowl games are done? The signing period starts before the bowl games?
I could see multi year contracts becoming the norm. The pros have to plan a 52 man roster. You can sign athletes for multiple years. Turnover is a thing to deal with, with 35% or so leaving every year, but most you probably have an idea who you trying to bring back.
For profit was never going to work for the majority of colleges, even the major conferences, across all sports. And we are not close to being able to give money beyond what we currently are. I follow Long Beach, but the whole turn amateur athletics has taken sours me on it.
The NCAA is corrupt and has been for a long time. In addition you now have the TV program owners that further control much of college sports now. The power conferences rule college sports.
LBSU needs to concentrate on providing a good education in a close family atmosphere. There is a whole lot of work LBSU must do to make this happen.
