It sucks that UCI had about 10 chances to win the game in regulation and O.T. and just came up short.  Previous MessageThey were so damned close! Previous MessageYes the did! BUT, in the end, history will reveal that they choked in the end. Previous MessageUCI represented the BW well. Previous MessageGoodness, so many Irvine boners. 1. The failure to call a time out which you refer to...and Turner had TWO! 2. The foul call on UCI on the UTC three pointer from the corner where the UTC player kicked the defender/Che. 3. Che, an 87% free throw shooter failing at least three times at the line, late in the game and in OT. 4. The UCI big man blowing two FTs in OT. 5. UCI sagging off (actually, the defenders walked/sprinted away) the UTC player IN THE PAINT, near the FT line, giving him a nice open shot for the winning basket in OT. 6. Che playing out of control and launching wild, off balance shots late in the game and in OT. 7. Dixon failing to lay the ball off the glass for the winning basket. In OT, it almost looked like both teams where playing to lose. Previous MessageUCI had the rebound down 1 with 11 sec on the clock. Why not get quickly past midcourt, call a timeout and set up a play? Turner had 3 TOs and didn't call one. That and choking on the FT line missing several FTs cost UCI the game. Previous MessageUCI lost it. Some stupid plays. |
