Nobel couldn't win in the Trinity League. Whomever found that game should be sent back to San Diego State.

I refuse to just blame NIL for this mess. I think they have some talented players. Just like last year. They don't get anything out of them.

Fix Roof = $60 million
Suites probably cost $5k each
Get used to being a BW bottom feeder for years, this mess won't get better with the NIL problem taking any decent players from a dead program every year.
One decent spurt late in the first half, carried over to the first few minutes of the 2nd half, then they collapsed like a house of cards. I think this team could be competitive and win some games but like you say something big is missing, my best guess is they lack confidence for whatever reason and have no on court leadership which is very much on the coaches they have to identify the leaders and instill a mindset with them and I don't see that at all. Didn't see it last year, Askew led by example and hardly vocalized.
Game by game is the only way, who knows what might happen but you have to search high and low to find signs of improvement that is a giant problem.

Portland is shooting 29-of-39 late in the second half. That's 75 percent from the field. For a defense to allow that...nearly all of which were easy layups...is a fundamental flaw in the coaching.
Chris Ackler LOVES gaslighting the fans by talking about how they're building something, growing, etc.. But in reality, every single one of his players left last year. And were replaced by a team that is doing literally the exact same thing.
21 consecutive losses (sorry, not counting Nobel lol) is enough evidence to suggest this was a failed hire. I hope that someday I am proven wrong, but I watch every game and it's just deja vu every time they play.
FWIW, I don't think this is a talent issue. Clearly Acker has some recruiting chops. This is an in-game coaching/retention/team culture issue. Something is failing, big time.
As an aside, it's embarrassing that this program can't play in its home gym when it rains. Figure it out. I see Bobby built a nice new suite behind the basket for donors/admins. How about fix the roof?
