Would be nice if he protected Nick's opportunity, whether with admins understanding or not.
Nick's family is a long time LB supporter, and his time as an athlete and coach is well known. Hope he can keep things rolling, and probably keeps the booster group active in the short term which is vital in today's environment.

I 100% guarantee you that Knipe told the people in charge who he wanted to coach the team when he retired. There was NO CHANCE that any other coach was coming in to take over. They owed Knipe that much to let his assistant take over. Previous Message
Only theory I have for doing this at the beginning of the season is it ensures Nick MacRae gets the HC job, no time or reason to look around, which is exactly what Coach Knipe wants to happen. I wouldn't be surprised if the ultimate volleyball tactician partly did this right now just to ensure Nick is elevated to HC. Previous Message

Believe all pre-Cegles coaches now all gone on Smitheran watch.
Believe all the perenially competitive coaches now gone since the SDSU crew arrive, too.
