After year 1 exodus, I'd really like to see some guys stick around to see if any resemblance of a program can be developed under Acker.

If we end up with 12 new guys again, I don't know what we can really expect.

I agree with your assessment 100%. However, I don't really care what EWU is doing. I like Dan personally and LB decided to move on. It was a necessary parting. I wish him well but have no desire to follow EWU. They are at most a curiosity for me. LB has a MESS on its hands, which I currently do not see as one that it can recover from without a breakup of the NCAA schools or a migration to D2 status. If LB does migrate to D2 and is one of the first schools to do so, it will make national schools and open the flood gates for a mass migration.

Monsoon is long gone and it does not matter to LBSU what he is doing. This current focus on Monson is looking backwards, we need to look forward. Acker is no Monson, but Monson was not able to win the big games, so we set out to find a coach who can win the conference and the big games. Bobby and we have to live with his choice. Part of the current situation with all our teams you can lay at Conoley’s doorstep. She was unprepared to handle NIL and P4 consolidation, even though it was in clear view. Hopefully this new guy will get and do something about it.

If I were a coach with booster groups for my sport, I would be focusing on raising money for trust funds and not concentrating on current expenses. The funds need to be outside the athletic department purview and managed by trusted people, and there are ways to unsure that happens. If we do not do this we are spinning our wheels for generations and be prepared for eventual trip to D2.

Forget Monson and start looking forward.

With our men’s basketball team essentially eliminated, I figure some of us will hop aboard the EWU bandwagon and support our guy Dan as they make a push for the NCAAs.

For anyone who already has been following them, what should we know about this team? Anyone have any insight?

I see they are 9-6 and have a big game tomorrow night against Northern Colorado. Looks like they could finish as high as the 2 seed in the Big Sky (currently tied for second with Montana St).
