I frankly don't care. While I believe everyone should be treated with respect and dignity, I also have too much going on with my life to take offense at what a "commentator" for another university had to say about a talented volleyball player who happens to be gay and enjoys celebrating winning. There's only so much bandwidth in my life to take offense to minor incidents like this. It's sports, the toy department of life. I choose to treat it that way. Previous Message
Did anyone else see this story?
There's an openly gay men's volleyball player at CSUN, who has some more flamboyant celebrations. He's a very good player.
Anyway, Charlie Brande at UCI made some overtly offensive and homophobic comments. It seems like it was coming from a place of ignorance, hopefully, and not hate. And he has apologized.
But man, that really can't happen. At least, that's my view on this.
Good for Jordan Lucas at CSUN. Go be you, dude! Love the way he goes about it.
