I certainly found it offensive, add me to the list. That's why I posted about it.
Take care.

I fully expected that highly predictable response and had a prepared answer. It's important for EVERYONE to know that the wide majority of people just don't care about these "offenses". People experience all sorts of offenses each and every day and have to pick out what really matters in THEIR daily lives. And the fact of the matter is that an ignorant comment by a sports announcer for a minor university covering a minor sport through media consumed by very few is pretty damned low on the offense totem pole for pretty much everyone other than the athlete offended, his friends and family, his teammates and the announcer. To the rest of us its just a spider farting in a forest as the wind blows through the trees.
Why post it? The volleyball player isn't an LB athlete, nor did the contest involve LB. This isn't a social justice blog or an offense du jour board, so why? We come here to escape that crap and the activists who attempt to stir the pot to divide us. Again, why?

And yet, here you are commenting? Sure sounds like someone who cares.

I frankly don't care. While I believe everyone should be treated with respect and dignity, I also have too much going on with my life to take offense at what a "commentator" for another university had to say about a talented volleyball player who happens to be gay and enjoys celebrating winning. There's only so much bandwidth in my life to take offense to minor incidents like this. It's sports, the toy department of life. I choose to treat it that way.

Did anyone else see this story?
There's an openly gay men's volleyball player at CSUN, who has some more flamboyant celebrations. He's a very good player.
Anyway, Charlie Brande at UCI made some overtly offensive and homophobic comments. It seems like it was coming from a place of ignorance, hopefully, and not hate. And he has apologized.
But man, that really can't happen. At least, that's my view on this.
Good for Jordan Lucas at CSUN. Go be you, dude! Love the way he goes about it.
