1.) The AD told the coach in a performance review that her job was not to win, but to keep athletes happy.
2.) Vice Preident Apel's background is Human Resources, yet he apparently condones this approach, and actually offered Smitheran a contract that requires him to stay within 1% of his budget. It's such a management cop out.

Jenny was a jewel at LB.
Any actual complaints against her will now become public record.
I hate all of this but I'm going to comment not to attack Jenny, but comment on the litigious society we are in that goes after public institutions who then become overburdened with lawsuits and their costs.
The comment that successful men's coaches who are "old school" don't get criticized/fired is made to further her claim, but it simply isn't true in college athletics today. While some coaches may be "old school", all universities have programs to move coaches to more mordern standards of relating to athletes. Men are fired for cause and not being able to relate to modern student athletes all the time. A quick search of NCAA tennis and other firings:
Jeremy Feldman- University of North Carolina at Charlotte, bullied athletes, fired.
Dave Porter, BYU, forced out a year after a video was leaked by players of him making what was deemed insensitive comments.
Max Norris (Ball State University)- health risks towards athletes, pushed them beyond NCAA max, etc (which used to be a joke 20 years ago in most sports as voluntary workouts were not really that).
Rex Ecarma University of Louisville, 29 years of service, probably most high profile fired for coaching methods.
Other sports:
Jerome Tang (K-State mens basketball)- fired for criticizing his players publicly and coaching environment.
Pat Fitzgerald- Northwestern, not monitoring resulting in atmosphere of hazing.
Courts have ruled on similar cases, but in California this probably is a bit easier to pull off.

THis case is very similar and shows what she will be claiming, and how they will try to disprove it.

Asked Alan at a recent vball match what he misses about coaching. Alan said dealing with administration is something he does not miss at all!

Slytherin does it again. I think we all sensed especially in the case of Costello that something was very off with her sudden departure.
Makes me even more curious if Knipe's sudden departure was for reasons related to the AD.
Slytherin has to go. In way over his head. Yes these are allegations, but they fit his profile...lack of wits. Feels like a baseball player who approaches hitting by swinging wildly in the hope he connects.
Thanks Jane, another stellar moment in your glorious tenure hiring this guy, further proving you were also in over your head.
