Sac is giving it a shot with a president who is very public about his support. I disagree with a lot of his positions and stances towards the education system and society as a whole, but he is very open about the move to FBS, which I admire.
The stadium issue got kicked down the road with the move to the MAC. They bought the team 5 years to find a home, which will require a stadium plan.
Does that elevate their other sports, or cause more of a burden? I think both.

Will Sac State's optimistic vision of its future lead it to a more respected level in football, basketball, and baseball? I like that they are giving it a go and trying to elevate Sac State. What innovations has LB State made in the last several years to raise our standing in Division 1 or even in the Big West Conference? It seems to me that, in athletics, LB State is, at best, just treading water.

Well, our newest member is getting ready for their first FBS season. Good luck Sac.
CBS sports thinks:
133. Sam Houston
134. Ball State
135. Middle Tennessee
136. Sacramento State
137. Charlotte
138. UMass
North Dakota State comes in at 109 for their first season in FBS with much more success at FCS.
Also, Cal Poly is now the only other full member still playing football, so long Davis and Hawaii. Poly is picked near the bottom of Big Sky, around 10th in polls. They do return a good chunk of offensive contributors, with a new coach Tom Skipper, who twice was acting/interim coach at Fresno State, and then also was interim last year at UCLA. The Madden Center officially opened a few weeks ago, which will anchor their program for the short term.
