Unfortunately LBSU does not have leadership capable of promoting sports. Smitheran is a very weak Athletic Director who somehow got his contract extended. This speaks volumes. Apel has no real interest in promoting sports. He wants us to become members of Division 2.
Finances are going to continue to be a major problem.
With fuel prices sure to be in the rise again only the private colleges will have the money for sports team transportation. The witholding of federal monies due to many states is already causing irreparable damage. I expect many sports will become intramural due to financial constraints.
