On of my online friends has been caring for two outdoor kitties. They are a mama and baby. The baby is about 4 months old. She gets in my friend's lap and purrs. Mama is a baby herself. She was born in March. Mama is friendly and likes to be petted. The kitties are located in Tennessee, near Chattanooga. I'm heading down on Saturday. The plan is to get them and bring them home with me on Sunday. They will have to be vetted and tested for FeLuk/FIV before they come into my house. I suspect that they will need flea treatment and deworming too. They will both need to be spayed and I'm praying that mama isn't pregnant again.
Other than having a deadly illness, my big concern is getting them acclimated to being indoor cats AND introducing them into a houseful of senior cats. I still have 10 kitties, ages 10 to 17.
Oh, the kitties actually belong to one of her neighbors, but they don't take care of them. They are aware of the situation and don't have a problem with them coming home with me.
Wish me luck on this crazy journey!
Baby is the kitty laying down. Aren't they adorable?
