It's been awhile since anyone has posted here, so I'm going to make a start. I think most of you know that my kitties Johnny, Spunky, and Lily, crossed the Bridge in September, October, and November. I don't remember if I posted here, but I said farewell to out meezer, Memphis, on December 4. He had a tumor in the back of his mouth, close to his throat. Eating had become too painful. It broke my heart to say goodbye to him, although he was more of my brother's kitty than mine. He adored Greg.
On of my online friends has been caring for two outdoor kitties. They are a mama and baby. The baby is about 4 months old. She gets in my friend's lap and purrs. Mama is a baby herself. She was born in March. Mama is friendly and likes to be petted. The kitties are located in Tennessee, near Chattanooga. I'm heading down on Saturday. The plan is to get them and bring them home with me on Sunday. They will have to be vetted and tested for FeLuk/FIV before they come into my house. I suspect that they will need flea treatment and deworming too. They will both need to be spayed and I'm praying that mama isn't pregnant again.
Other than having a deadly illness, my big concern is getting them acclimated to being indoor cats AND introducing them into a houseful of senior cats. I still have 10 kitties, ages 10 to 17.
Oh, the kitties actually belong to one of her neighbors, but they don't take care of them. They are aware of the situation and don't have a problem with them coming home with me.
Wish me luck on this crazy journey!
Baby is the kitty laying down. Aren't they adorable?
How exciting msg

I hope they are easily catchable and they have no major health issues. Good luck for your tripCats are like Potato Chips - you can't have just one
Malinda, your situation is so much like mine right now. You had 11, and we currently have 11...your one had throat tumor, and our Buffy has mouth cancer (around and under her tongue). She is hanging in there ok so far, but last couple days I notice she sleeps just a bit more. But she so loves being brushed and sat with, purrs and headbutts, so as long as she does that, I can't make that decision now. But we may be letting her go at some point in the not too distant future. She still runs away from my syringing her, which is good. When she just sits, it will be time. But we'll relish the time with her until then. But...that said, when she's gone we'll have 10. And we too, have mostly seniors. Our youngest though is 6 (Parker..actually thought he was older but looked him up in my cat birthday book) his mom who's 8+, and then they go from 10 to nearing 17.
How fun that you will be getting two youngsters again, and one a baby!. You'll have to give us an update on how they are as they acclimate. And pictures too!
