The wife has a friend - family friend - that wants the cat. This cat exchange is to be done today. Cat will be indoors only and have a run of the house. They do have a dog but dog is an "outdoors dog" which as a dog owner, I've always had a bit of a problem with. We shall see. The youngest daughter, who wanted to keep the cat at first and tried it for one night (complete failure as I previously posted) will be able to visit her. Frankly, I think giving this cat to this friend is NOT the best case scenario for the cat and more of a way to appease the youngest daughter but that is my hunch - not based on anything I've been told. I'll continue to keep all updated as I know more.

best interest of the cat. I hope he'll be ok. Maybe I'm just wrong. I hope he doesn't get tossed aside again. Poor kitty.

I'm holding my breath on this "cat exchange" half-expecting a phone call from my friend's wife "It's not working out for my daughter's friend" I hope to be proven wrong however. Should I hear anything will update this board.

I agree with you, I think this cat needs someone who really understands cats and from this story it seems to me that the cat, being left on its own for so long, has begun to turn feral - it will take a lot of patience to undo all of the harm.
