Cleaning ears

My vet recommend a mix of vinegar and water formula which seems legit but thought I would get some feed back. I use cotton balls and tissue for getting what is accessible but a more detailed cleaning it seems a flush is more needed. Any suggestions other than buying commercial type?

cat's ears. Too much of that can cause worse issues. Unless he has mites, I'd leave well enough alone. Happy Thanksgiving!

but I don't recommend "flushing" them because water in the ear canal and crevices can breed bacteria. A tissue or thin washcloth dampened with warm water (squeezed almost dry) works. I like unscented baby wipes, which I cut into fourths, saving the other 3/4 in a zippered plastic bag.

I wasn't thinking about the transdermal meds. And actually never did meds that way, so didn't know but makes sense. However, in general I don't recommend ear cleaning other than a lightly damp rag and not flushing anything internal.

The way you're saying, makes sense. No water going into the canal.
