I listened to it when it came out fresh from Bowie death

My impression was that it sounded like really tuneless , unmemorable mediocre krautrock and didn't give any second thoughts regarding the album.

Saw the John Mc review and think whoa. Is this just a John Mc Thing or is this album really is regarded as an all time classic?

I probably give it a respin one day

Admittedly it may be Impossible that me at my current state and phase in my life would find it impossible to love any new rock record so I may have disliked it irrespective of it's quality especially considering the groove nature of the work
