How about listening to as many rock artist composers that you can find and making up your own mind rather than relying on an authority who clearly doesn't have the same reference points or level of interest in rock music as you do? Or perhaps simply allow different kinds of music which have different purposes and goals from that of classical music to hold up on their own merits within their own genres?
