I am indeed so very sorry to learn of your loss. To some, but of course not to full extent, I can relate to your loss. Just a few weeks ago, I too lost one of my very closest and dearest friends, whom are not many I should say. His name was William Tallman, and a Viet Nam Veteran of D/2/3rd Inf Rgt, 199th LIB USARMY. I may not have known him as you knew your friend, yet over the years we did talk with eachother and actually met in person for almost a week in Washington D.C, I came to love him, as any man can love another. The loss of my friend has hit me harder than I thought it would, and I am still, almost a month after his death, having troubble really coping with Bill no longer being "there" for me.
And yet, we never knew eachother as you knew your friend, whom you now have lost. We were dear and close, but not as Marines are as Brothers In Arms, from once in a time both having served in hell.
What I am trying to say is that, I am sorry for your loss, and sorry for not being able to really Do anything. I may not be a Brother In Arms, and fellow Marine. And "comfort" is thereby, by pure definition, not something I could share with you even if being with you. But a short hug, would at least perhaps give some releif if only for some seconds. But here I am, a quarter of the earth away in geographical distans, and all I can do is to type my feelings on a keybord to you.
I whish I could give you that "hermanito"-hug...
T G C!
Sincerely
A.B
