I store potatoes in one of the bottom contaners of the fridge. One thing is people do not buy to store food. Except during the winter. The Fall maybe just a cooler version of Spring. Or vica
versa.
Since I live alone I buy for meals not to stock. I stock pet food not human food.
Kroger is the secret to my success. I usually buy the smaller golden potatoes. I had a huge sweet potato given to me and I cut it into 5 large portions. It was huge. They are in the freezer and I will cook one portion tonight to have with Chicken and vegies.
I freeze most of the veggies. Onions are in a seperate drawer from the potatoes. I havs some bell peppers to make a rice dish with what ever I come across.
I keep my fridge at just about 35 +/- depending on the humidity and the temp in the house or even outside.
It's a challenge on a daily basis year round.
