...just get used to photos being taken, which is nice.

I love digital photography for a few reasons.

1 - Because the 'film' is free!

2 - Not having to take it in to be developed.

3 - Instant ability to check a photo to see if it's worth keeping or not.

The downside, is too many photos kept sometimes.

Also, no physical items like slides.

I liked film cameras, but the cost was so much more w/ film and developing.

Keep taking them of him; you'll never regret that.
