Evie will not be able to get to the area where the treee will be, so there is no problem there. I have a four-foot tree now, so it sits on a table, and I fix it so the cats cannot get to it. My cats have never been very interested in the tree once it is up and going.
As for food, I will be making chicken and dressing to take to older dd's for our Christmas celebration. She and her dh will do the rest. I really watch what I do put on the counters. Evie is nosy, but can't reach much, but the cats are another story. They don't get on the counters when we are around, but everyone knows cats do a lot when no one is around to stop them.
