I swear by this as at BOR I was taught by the women who were in their 90's, and had poultry. They all had chcken coops and swore by the use of female urine, to mark the chicken area coop. I went further and regularly collect my urine and marked alng my entire fence line, i.e. my territory.
If I let them out during the day Blue was on guard. But you don't let your's out do you?
It took a while to gather enough to start with, but after that I had urine to spare. But I also howeled back at the coyote.
Since you have foxes and other critters, I'm not sure if the larger critters would react to your marking. But I never noticed any around when I marked. Who knows.
Just a suggestion and I marked year 'round. Our 12 acres backed up to a government forest that was quite extensive. There were prints of a Mountain lion in our dry creek - when it rained of course. Verified by local Ag Rep.
And other wildlife as well. But for me the coyotes and racoons, etc. were the main trouble makers.
One of our neighbors was an instructor at University of Texas. He taught farming and taught me a lot. But one of the older ladies - 90's also taught me how to deal with cattle - she had Bramahs (sp) A huge herd that unfortunately, pinned her against her gate & fence. She was injured but went back to taking care of her cattle the next day. She lived alone on her ranch - way larger then mine. But she broke her neck by sitting down in an open space thinking the chair was behind her. It wasn't.
We talked often and she taught me how to prep small amounts of fruit/veggies to Can. I had always done large batches - holiday gifts of course. Now I can do small amounts. She also drove her own car. She was a living encyclopedia of rural living. Amazing woman.
Another one of the ladies I took to the store or Drs, etc. Amazing also. Both survived their husbands and ran their ranches alone. Fascinating.
Well that's enough, I just wanted to suggest my Coyote-off process. LOLOL! It worked and I swear the Mother Coyote & her kids never bother us or any of my critters at all.
Good luck, if you try it let me know. I am going to use it to drive off J&W's big male cat that lives in my bed room and bathroom walls. I also have some green fencing that I will run along the bottom of the siding in the back to keep the cat & other critters out. I will have to buy more of the fencing. Its green and 3ft x 20ft long. Hope it works. Then I will have to buy more for the back area and the area past the back steps.
First I have to pay the taxes - I just pray they answer my phone calls so I can make payments.
Well have a good day. Let me know if you try my system. 8-)
