He told me via walkie that this is a very large, old raccoon. A big boar that's kind of yellow and gray. He's seen a lot of raccoons, and thinks that this is the 2nd largest that he's seen.
The big boars can be dangerous. When Dh's father lived in the big woods - in Wisconsin in the early part of the last century, he swore that the big boars were smart and wily, and would bide their time to catch dogs, which they would drown in the river. Because of their size, they were able to succeed far too often.
He also said that the hens are calming down with him sitting right outside of their coop.
Now I wonder what's for our dinner, since I donated my dinner?
