I also put peanuts in shells out for the squirrels. Both from a tree out front and hanging from my clothes line out back.
So I walked out back and put peanuts in the two squirrel cups. I then walked down the stairs to the cup for some bird seed and a few peanuts. I then put some in s smaller cup for peanuts as I have lots of squirrels.
So next I would put wildbird seed in to hanging feeders.
When I went to add some I screamed litteraly as there was a snake drapped over the first birdseed feeder. More like a flat tray. I took a photo to find out what it was. When I noticed it had eaten something as there was a good sized lump halfway down the snake.
Now this tray was hanging from the chain that held one end of the clothesline. It looked dead so I wasneye level with the tray. I hoped it had been dropped by a hawk or something so I was going to toss it in the street - But when I moved the tray after raising it the snakes head moved.
OMG! OMG! I screamed so loud. And the snake fell out of the tray. I tried to see where it went but lost sight of it. I think it went into one of the holes in the ground at the base of the two hyge Oak Trees. I have been looking at the ground ever since then checking out the oak branches as well. SCAREY!!!!!
I want my neighbor to id the photos but I think they may be having some family issues. Since they returned. I am fairly sure it was a rat snake.
And that it probably - if it had climbed the tree - it might have gotten a baby bird. The lump is not very large. YUCK!!!!
I HATE SNAKES! Now I worry that I have one or more in the walls of the Manufactured home. SHIVERS!
Anyway This week has been an emotional roller coaster.
I really need things to calm down. I am now trying to find Kitty in DD's room. I try to keep it fairly organized. But I have a least a years plus worth of cardboard boxes stuffed in the closet, or flattened and ready to be cut up and stuffed in the big trash can.
Once I get rid of all the ones in DDs bedroom I can cut up boxes I get every week and using the small ones to fill with burn pile garbage which "Mike" Will dispose of at the dump.
That way I may have the burn piles gones in two years. They are big and left over from the people who lived here before I moved in.
The other thing I need to do is wack all the weeds but until the temps are down to the 80s I won't work out back.
Boy needs to bring over his chainsaw to remove some big branches. Only a few. Then I can start putting the cloth fence up.
This has been a horrid weekplus. Now o find Kitty. I will go on line ot amazon to buy some canned cat food. I still can't believe she is alive I haven't seen her again.
Prayers she really is alive please!
