Do your dogs sleep more, or less, during the day in the heat?

And, what are your plans for them on the 4th? Will you want to give them something calming, or will they be okay?

We've gotten hot here this week, and while they would play and so forth, were it offered, they basically sleep more until we are actually ready for them to play - early morning, or nighttime.

The other day, Krypto was out for an extra few minutes during the day, and he panted for quite some time when he came in. That's why we keep it as short as possible during the day, and only play at other times.

Hira will pant some as well, but not nearly as much. She's got an overall darker coat, but she doesn't have the double coat that Krypto does.

Speaking of which, he started blowing his coat last week, and it's everywhere, no matter how much we brush him. Thank goodness for our Furminator, but still...!

If there are any fireworks, it will be one rogue person, so I don't anticipate a problem with the 4th.

It will be like any other day to them, except that I hope to have some pasta. As it turns out, Hira the Foodie loves pasta! We found that out accidentally a week ago. So, she might get a couple of elbow noodles with her food. Especially since it's pasta made from rice.

Krypto, on the other hand, doesn't like rice, rice pasta, or rice in any other form.
