Quake downed another gallon of ale just as easily as the first one and followed it by yet another loud belch. "BBRAAAAAAAAAAPPHH!!"
Serna and Neven burst out laughing at this belch and smiled at each other.
This time she attracted the attention of a group of surly dwarves sitting at an adjacent table. There sat a couple of miners covered in soot and dirt. Filthy to the core which made Quake miss being in her true form. "Chug! Chug! Chug! Chug another one!"
"You might want to take it easy on that ale, Quake," Irzen cautioned, "If you're not careful, that stuff could go to your head."
And chug another gallon of ale she did, however, the third was well renown as Dragon Fire and upon release the third nearly deafening belch towards the ceiling, Quake lit up the crystalline lights, quite literately. **WHOOSH!**
The crowd went wild with 'Ooooos and ahhhhhs.'
"WWWOOOOOWWWW!!!" Serna and Neven cried in complete shock.
"Good grief!" Irzen cried, "Do you always do that when you've had too many?"
"Quake. You're a hit," The elementalist observed the other table, "and you have competition."
"Competition? Hah! I'll take them all on." Quake downed two more gallons of ale when the buzzing feeling hit. She was smiling from ear to ear and thoroughly felt the tingly sensation all over.
"Yeah! I think its time to cut you off," Irzen noted, "You've had more than your fill and you're beginning to attract attention."
"Blah! Blah! Blah! That's all you do is moan, swordsman," snapped the elemental, "Lighten up! Geez! No one here is gonna go all mad and the like. That's why its called a party!"
"Fair enough!" The Swordsman held up his hands defensively, "Suit yourself."
"Attention we may or may not need," Willow added, "Neutral territory or not, a little discretion here would not be a bad thing. What say you, Quake and Alyson?"
The elementalist raised a glass to Quake's speech, "Just let her be, guys and gals. After what we went through recently, some of us recquire a little extra rest and relaxation."
"You'll get no argument out of me," Serna added as she took another bite to eat.
"Me either!" Neven conceded, "I don't mind a laugh or two especially after all we've been through. I wonder what they have here for dessert?"
"Dessert? What exactly are you looking for, Neven? You can ask Mertul when she comes back from serving the other tables. This is a big tavern." The elementalist glanced about the place and turned to the ranger, "You need to relax as well for a change."
"I'm looking for a chocolate fudge hot fudge sundae," The Thief declared proudly with a firm nod, "I had one a long time ago when some traders came into Deeping Dale from a far off land and it was AWESOME! If Mertul has it, I want it!"
"I will," Willow replied as she leaned back in his seat, "So much adventure in so short a time has me on edge, Alyson. But give me some time, even the sharpest knife eventually dulls its edge."
"True!" Irzen nodded in agreement, "All too true, I wouldn't mind a plate full of snickerdoodles and a nice cup of coffee if they have it. What would you like for dessert, Alyson?"
Mertul waded through the sea of people to get to the large table of adventurers, "So, what will it be? Desserts? Anyone?" as she surveyed the group.
"The boy would like a chocolate hot fudge sundae, The swordsman here is asking for cookies. Think sugar cookies with a cinnamon sprinkled on them and a cup of "Joe."
The dwarf wrote the dessert orders down on her stone tablet, "Cup of Joe?"
Alyson thought a moment, "A hot cup of caffeinated dark water." She clearly saw a look of confusion on Mertul's face, "Have you gotten any people from "Earth?"
Mertul shrugged, "Eh? Maybe. I dunno'. Lots of folks come through here. Anyone else for some treats? What about you my lady?"
"The main meal was very filling. I'll pass." The elementalist leaned back against the seat.
As far as Quake was concerned, all the brew that she could keep down was good enough for her and entertaining the crowd.
"A nice hot cup of coffee!" The Swordsman corrected, "I like my coffee black."
"I will take a plate full of honey nut cookies if you have them," Willow relaxed a little, "As well as a nice bottle of Elven wine."
"Nothing for me thanks," Serna smiled, "I'm still working on my main meal."
Mertul looked about the table of friends one more time just to be sure, "Okay. That's one chocolate, hot fudge sundae. A cup of coffee, black, and a plate full of honey cakes? Correct?"
The elementalist nodded in compliance, "That's correct."
The dwarf lady turned and headed to the kitchen with the order.
Alsyon yawned quietly and excused herself from the table, "I'm off to my room. After what recently happened, I just need sleep.Chow." She headed upstairs to rooms. Some were large and others small. She selected the room in the corner. A small one with a bed and a window to which she opened and enjoyed the fresh air. Turning back around, she closed the door and went to sleep.
