"The Galley is a pub in the poor district." Sergeant Talos rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "Best time to go is now. Least likely to get robbed but keep a firm a grip on all of your equipment. The people there are mostly descent folks if you're willing to part with some coin. Follow please."
"Neven, can you please keep your eye out for any thieves that may try to rob us?" Irzen asked, "If we can catch one or two of them in the act, we might be able to exchange information on their comrades for their freedom."
"Sure thing!" Neven nodded in agreement, "I'll also keep an eye out for cubby holes as well."
The sergeant lead the group back down the hill and to the other side of the city. The poor district was as he implied it to be. Small homes and stacked apartment like buildings. There were some shops with people selling their goods to make ends meet. Dried fruits and meats from one of the stands. Most of the people looked like miners or mill workers. Dusky skin, and rough hands were common place here in the poor district. The Galley was about half way down the street. A rickety sign of a ship was swinging in the wind. A couple of shady individuals sat outside on a large barrel eyeing the party suspiciously. Though as soon as they saw Sergeant Talos, they averted their gaze in another direction.
"So, Sergeant Talos, I'm curious," Irzen decided to try and make a little small talk, "What do you think of my interrogation techniques?"
Sergeant Talos stopped to face the swordsman, "Uh...a bit different but effective in some way I suppose. Just mind what you say here. Say the wrong word and people will clamp up so tight and only divine intervention from a cleric would get these folks to loosen their tongues."
"Good to know," Irzen agreed.
He turned to Neven, "Say, kid, why don't you take lead. You look like a person who knows what to say and get information."
"I'm better off observing to be honest with you," Neven replied, "However, I see no reason why I can't do both."
The Thief walked right up to the door to The Galley and addressed both men waiting outside, "Greetings, we are strangers looking for some friends."
The pair of individuals checked Neven over nodding to each other. One of them motioned to the door and opened it. "We'll be watching you lot."
Sergeant Talos gave the two a look of 'don't even think about it' as the party entered the pub. They walked into a bar with a bunch of various races sitting and drinking. Some took notice of the party while the rest didn't even bothered to pay attention.
Sergeant Talos leaned towards Neven, "Are you for real? It's obvious you're rusty at your trade."
"And you are not very nice," Neven replied evenly, "If you don't like how I'm practicing my 'trade', then why don't YOU start talking to people yourself and see how far YOU would get."
"I have asked questions. Not my area of expertise, kid." Sergeant Talos stated abruptly, "I'm just doing my job. So do yours, that is if you're still capable of knowing how to do it."
The Thief kindly stepped aside and motioned for Talos to take the lead.
Serna did her best to suppress a giggle at Seargent Talos' predicament.
The sergeant seemed to notice everything especially with the shield maiden's attempt to stifle a smirk. "Watch it, girlie."
Willow just shook his head while Irzen gave Talos a wry grin.
"If I wanted to be a nice person, I would of picked a different job. Being an official isn't always about being nice, kid. It's about making sure everyone gets justice, and justice doesn't take sides. So, do what you do best what your ilk does." Sergeant Talos crossed his arms once more implying Neven to take the lead.
The pub had all sorts of shady and not so shady characters for Neven to check out. Some even glanced in his direction watching him as well. To the far right side of the pub sat a four to six teenagers ranging from twelve to sixteen. All of them playing a game of dice and chatting among themselves.
