It greatly depended on who the pastor was, and what he taught. I did get saved in that church, so I am grateful for that. But there wasn't a tremendous emphasis on the teaching of the Word of God...at least not until the charismatic element came into the mix. But the denomination is scared of that "stuff" so it never rose to much of an influence. My brother is trying to take the church into a balanced exposure and expression of the charismata...including a blend of contemporary praise with older hymns...but it is meeting with mild resistance. Also, I have noticed that they now have communion available every week, which was a big step for that church...it was VERY anti-catholic in it's roots and would avoid almost all semblance of ritual/liturgy...so it's worship was mostly evangelical/reactionary.
