FOR SALE - Alignment Scissor lift - SOLD #

Selling my alignment scissor lift with rear slip plates and front turn tables, it's rated at 3500Kg and is 3 phase.

Made in Germany by Twin Busch not a Chinese one! See them here;

I bought this off a guy who'd bought it new in 2013 when fitting it piped it wrong and bent the scissor where the ram connects Twin Busch were very gracious and supplied a complete new scissor section which we have fitted and then installed it. That was Feb 2014 and has been fine since all perfectly level etc.

I am only selling both these bits of kit as one of my showroom roofs has fallen through so have planning passed to convert to another workshop so need the cash for are friends the builders!

Ramp is in very good condition platforms are 4.0M long and each 0.64M wide

Looking or £2700 + VAT Knock off £200 if you don't want front turn tables. Any questions ask.

Rob,

Can this lift be installed as a surface mount not recessed as it has been.

Also is 4.0m long enough to do wheel alignment for those machiines that require a runout compensation check (i think that's what the call it).

As we have been measuring a couple of cars wheel base and it seems tight.

Hi Lee,

Yes it will surface mount and I forgot to put in the listing I have the run up ramps if doing so which are new & unused.

I've measured a 2010 Volvo XC90, 2011 Berlingo & a 2009 MB C Class in the yard today all at approx 2.8M wheelbase so ample room to do the runout

I forgot to add,

its the distance between the centre of the front turnplates to the centre of the rear slip pate that's important.

I'm only basing this on what the Andrew Page equipment rep is saying as he thinks 4.0m platform isn't enough length for runout checks as needed for the 3d alignment machines.

He believes you need at least 8 inches for this.

Hi Lee,

We used the Supertracker on it and to be fair you don't perform a runout measurement so it wasn't an issue but as it happens I have a John Bean Visualiner 3D machine I will be putting in the converted showroom.

I can fire it up where it's sat at the mo I'll put a car infront of it on the floor and measure how far it needs to take the runout reading and see if the ramp will accomodate, I would presume other brand 3D machines will need to see similar travel.

I have set up the John Bean machine on this lift temporarily until we get sorted - this is the required 'rollback' on one of these 3D machines - about 300mm (note green arrow in the background is now asking for the forward roll) I did have a Hunter demo last year and it was about the same.

Ok I've measured a 5 Door Freelander 2 at 2.67M wheelbase.

The centre of the turntables to the rear of the slip plates is 3.47M so that is roughly 800mm of slip behind the rear wheels the runout or rollback measurement for the John Bean 3D machine is 300mm so still 0.5M to spare.

Hi,rob we have old style 4wheel alignment kit,difficult question and don't answer if you don't want to but do you make any money with this type of equipment just looking at any kind of advantage over my competitors,if so any suggestions on what to buy also advice on ramps.thanks terry taylor

Hi Terry,

A very good question does spending thousands more on kit elevate you above your competitors who produce the same end result with kit costing a few hundred - I guess it's all down to marketing and selling yourself and your equipment to make your customer aware - something I haven't achieved myself (yet) but hopefully will once my new building is up (read new as now I have builders prices in it will not be cost effective to renovate it so I need a steel framed one to replace it) I plan on doing a dedicated website with Google keywords and SEO to try and pull in the types of people who realise correctly adjusted geometery can save premature wear on expensive tyres and fuel benefits as opposed to the ones we have now that want £20 tracking

I have no problem giving you advice from my own experience on different bits of kit etc.

My websites look ok but don't think that means much if they aren't sorted with keywords etc.
