He & his wife are in their 80's.
My aunt, his wife, has been dealing with " ms" since her mid 40's. They travel a lot still. For her comfort, they try to travel by train & take cruises. He is a retired ceo, so money is never an issue. Train travel is a bit more expensive.
Unfortunately, going by train isnt always an option. She vm dislikes air travel citing her disability for the reason. So if they cant get there by train- my uncle drives them. Every now & then they will fly to europe. She has relatives in Slovania. Intercontinental air flight is much better than domestic. Business class for those flights has seating slightly better than domestic 1st class. International 1st class is like sitting in your livingroom upon your favorite chair.
Just a heads up. Twice a year, the cruise lines reposition their ships. From europe & asia to the americas & then back. Those " crossings" cruises are actually pretty cheap. Takes about a week to cruise from NY or Florida to London or Rome, sometimes barcelona. I did one of those cruises about 20 years ago. Went from Florida to Rome.
It is an incredibly relaxing journey. Im a proponent of the journey not the destination being the highlight of the trip whenever possible. I would have taken the train to Lake Shasta last summer if it had been a possibility.
Being able tomove around on long journeysbis a big plus for us crippled folks. That might be a consideration for you in trying to convince your loving wife to take a long trip.
✌️
It might cost a bit more & require a larger time commitment. But I have a hunch your wifes comfort level would increase.
