Trump earned his relevancy largely via the reality show "apprentice". I never watched it. Never been a fan if any reality show. Theres a level of shadenfreud douchiness to the genre.

It is full on douchebag reality show that has now extended into the armed services. Its appalling!
The USA sends bombs, missles, drones into Yemen. People die. And yes, i get it. In all wars. Innocent people dying are part of the calculus.
Accepting that reality is one thing. Cheering it on like its the Marylans Terp buzzer beater vs illinois is full on disgusting.

"Moral Bankruptcy" is the phrase that comes to mind.
Add in how the secret police of the usa are arresting vida/ greencard holders. Invading private agencies at gunpoint.

It feels like we are becoming more like the USSR instead of that presidential vision of the late 20th century. "The shiny city on a hill" or "An aspirational goal emotting a thousand points of light". Those were conservative republican talking points from reagan & bush 1. Not some far left "communist " candidate.

It smells of Nixon and the secret bombing of Cambodia/Laos.
PS- in case you dont know the history. That military campaign resulted in a far worse outcome in the region than was what was in place & the USA wanted to replace.
