If I were gm.... Id look hard at the interior linemen. Theres prototype old school bodies in this draft. Im sure a few if them also come with the right mental attributes. Got some football player nasty in 'em. Beyond that, id trade back into round 7 & 2026/2027 draft. Round 7 gives you the pick of the liter of the likely free agent class. Id look hard at drafting a fcs qb in round 7. Td Tommy Mallott, Cam Miller, the kid from UC Davis. Mallott won the walter payton award. FCS version of the heisman. But he's only 6 foot and tellied on his legs for much of his production. The other 2 are 6-3. And the kid at davis relied on his arm far more than his legs. Cam Miller ran more play action in college than any other ncaa qb the past 2 seasons but of the 3 I mentioned. I think Miller throws with the least "zip". Caveat on these qb's. A 15 minute highlight tape is hardly a deep scouting. Im sure if you turn on Quinn Ewers highlight tape. We get just as exited. You cant go any cheaper with upside than having one of these kids step up to match the competition & be your backup the next 4 years in a 7th round salary... And- if the Viking were to Get Cam Miller? He grew up 200 miles south of UD bank. His high school coach was his dad. I admitt i am very biased given love to the coaches kid. It was the coaches kid the qb-ed the lombardi winner last season. |
