Parody & cynicism aside.
There was a time in the years prior to my illness. When i travelled all around central & south america. This coincided with the era when our contry's military and treasure were devoted to reimagining the middle east. As I traveled those southern destinations. It struck me as ironic, interesting & important. That poverty was overwhelming in most of the places I visited. While the USA was wasting $Trillions on the other side of the world. Our southern neighbors were being ignored to our future peril. It is a basic fact of sovereignty. When your country is overwhelmed with poverty. Corruption & crime blossom. Eventually spilling into surrounding countries. Creating mass exodus of refugees.

Trump- taking stock of the southern west hemisphere? It is an important moment. However, the devil is in the details. If ever, the USA truly wishes to stem the tide of mass immigration into this country. The answer is, always has been. Creating sustainable positive living standards for our southern neighbors. Idk that going to war us the right path. Most of these countries- their citizens- believe more in communism & socialism. Not capitalism. It is their right to self determination. These ideas date back a couple centuries to Simon Bolivar, the south american version of George Washington. The liberator of Spanish, French, Dutch & English imperialist exploitation/enslavement.
