Maga seeks expansion.
In both if the situations. There are minerals & resources at stake. Items coveted by industry. China watches with its eye towards its own idea of sovereignty/expansion.

Almost exactly 100 years ago. The 1st industrial revolution created the same coveting of raw materials from long established powers and their realization of being left behind should they remain inside their borders.

We fought 2 world wars, largely over expansionist ideals held in Japan, Germany & Italy. Metals, oil, farmland to feed their expanding poplulation. And the resources to become self reliant in a rapidily increasing competition to stay at the fore front of modernization.

The scenario on todays world stage is not different. Very similar forces are at play as we witness only the start of another modernization revolution just beginning to take shape.

I can only begin to imagine where this is heading over the next couple of decades. I have a hunch. The world as we now know it is about to accelerate its pace towards a very different future.
