By all means, a victory in battle is to be heralded. It is good news. Nearly great news that the victories have been multiplying.

Yet, this is a protracted war. Not about tariffs. But about the unconstitutional over reach of executive power and its eventual destruction of the American Democracy as it was created and intended. No king.

We have a long road ahead. So very many other issues are being co-opted by the executive branch. So many of the guardrails of our democracy have been bent, twisted or laid impotent. At the same time, the possibilities of corruptness of power and its selfish intents has been exposed.

New guardrails must be built to prevent these corrupt intents & outcomes. Now, in this age of unfettered greed.

That is an immense challenge.

A fine example of the task this democracy is faced with is in the never ending debate on immigration. Immigrants arrive for work. Work that citizens are unwilling to do because the powerful pay only a pitiance for some of the most arduous work there is. As well, when the task is completed, bc the immigrant has public opinion against him. The powerful can discard that cheap labor.
The Epstein case is of the same symptom. Young "prostitutes" used & then discarded. Viewed as undesirables by the powerful forces that are in charge of the justice system.

This is not a new concept. Its a problem that has plagued mankind for time eternal. Those with power, exploiting those that havent power.

The solution? Beats the hell out of me.
Yet, when immigrants are deported to gulags and the powerful, if ever prosecuted receive only a minimal punishenent for their part in this cycle.
How can we ever expect a meaningful change?

Stiff penalties for crimes of exploitation?
Good luck codifying that.
Stiff penalties for legal corruption like lobbyist and campaign donation pay for play?

I find it interesting- this one basic fact.
Hilary Clinton has been villified. Her public opinion status probably is not any higher than that of Trumps 36% approval.
Yet- Hilary set forth 2 gials to accomplish if she became Potus
1.- unniversal single payer healthcare.
2.- meaningful campaign finance reform.

A ericans got hoodwink by the never ending pr of disinformation. Instead of embracing a candidate that would have made america better via some needed course correction. She was mud slung into disfavor.

Imagine where we'd be now with affordable health care for ALL enshrined. And the lobbyists, pac money castrated. The disinformation bs that sways elections and hands us Crooks like Trump was replaced by a system where law & regulation is codified on merit alone.
