My 3 sons are all millenials. All 3 are pretty much in the Bernie camp. I had to really work on them to vote for hillary. I think 1 of them didnt. The youngest got swayed by his idiot mother... She's been a trickle down reagan fan and fux new pinata since shirtly after we divorced.... Even the youngest tho. Like you. Only voted for trump 1x.
Its a start. But, so many are like my 1st ex wife. So easily sold on the idea that all their problems are the fault of anybody but themself. And thats what Trump & his ilk harnassed. Grievance & blame. The opposite of that Jesus commandment.
And of course- its very easy to find a religion that milks a persons grievance...
One of the biggest forgotten point in jesus teachings. He didnt want a church based religion.
He advised strongly against the power it creates and the corruption that comes with power.
Alas. It is what it is. Around here, the miltant catholic wing is present, active & visible at services. I wish i could remember what they call themselves. Theres a specific national "club" theyre in. It isnt all that different from the KKK, making it very disappointing. They refuse the pope & vatican as the moral & philosophical basis of Catholicism.
Its so difficult to love that neighbor. So, I pray for em and dont let myself hate on it. Even sadder. There is no active "catholic charity" here in the valley. A cloister of aged nuns were sent by the Bishop to live in one of the old, mostly abandoned, rectories. The militants pitched a fit over the increased costs.
Bishop Peter had to step in and find them a new place to live. The youngest of the 6 nuns was in her late 60's.
Idk what is wrong with our generation schlepp.
Throwing old lady nuns out on the street? What is that? The diocese covered their healthcare and food. All the 4 congregations in the valley were asked to do was pay their utilities. Provide some infrequent transportation when father J wasnt available.
