What I witnessed as a drive down I90 west bound.
Gas stations don't give a rats ass that trump gave a nice speech this morning that resulted in a early morning drop in the oil commodity market.
Gad in the Spokane area was in the $5.79- $ $5.89 range.
Diesel was $6.87- $6.99. and nowhere in Idaho was Diesel under $5.05... The state of Washington is 2nd to only California in gas tax rate ...
In the past week I've heard a few oil/gas commodity market pundits claim the saying in the industry is. Commodity to retail relationship for this energy commodity is referred to as Rockets & Feathers.
Meaning. It Rockets upwards at even the slightest hint of disruption. But then falls like a feather.
It drives all of us nuts! Never a clearer example of price gauging than in the retail gas market.
Rockets & feathers plus the Trump 2.0 bonus.
I don't know how a poor man can ever again vote for a Republican. Is it ignorance? Culture was baiting?
Too much disinformation?
I guess probably a lot of all the above.
And yet? At the midterms. There's going to be plenty of chickens voting for the Col. Sanders. party.
Ps- money saver tip.
55 mph produces maximum fuel efficiency. Every mph above 55 raises consumption 1%, and it compounds.
It is a complex formula. Similar to calculating the actual interest on your amortised 30 year mortgage.. in simplest terms. Driving 65mph instead of 55 mph isn't a simple " 10 mph faster reduces efficiency 1% x 10. It's 1% + 1.1% + 1.2% + 1.4% + 1.6% etc... in essence 65 mph reduces your gas mileage by approx 14%. And another 10 mph will reduce exponentially higher. Around 20 more percent... Or... Driving 75 mph will reduce fuel efficiency somewhere around 25-30% compared to driving 55 mph over the same course.
It's not so much that most people notice. But for the national average drive, 1k miles per month. A 30% difference means 4 full tanks per month vs 3.
That's not such a big deal in my 13.5 gallon tank 4cyl Toyota. In my 30 gallon 3/4 ton GMC? That extra $100-$150 per month adds up over the year.
Disclaimer here- I haven't driven 1k miles per month in many years. In other words.
I'm discussing the young man working stiff's wallet. Not the OG hermit atop the hill. Lol✌️
Like most of the bitching I do. It ain't my bltch!
