Yet, I still prefer baseball over all the other sports. There's more strategy to the game. Lol, and there's a game everyday. Hockey & basketball, to a degree football. Come down to health @ postseason. And, crooked(seemingly)- officiating.
It's impressive how much baseball has improved by doing the minimum with robo ump. Giving each team 2 challenges on balls & strikes. And, if you don't lose a pitch that's challenged. It doesn't count as a challenge.
The result. Players can count on the strike zone being consistent. It appears to be making an oversized difference for batter pitcher confidence. And that's a good thing. I didn't expect it to make such a difference. TC announcers, Paul molitor, Trevor plouffe, Justin mourneau have detailed why the impact is so big. Greater than anyone expected. And I've heard it from the booth of other MLB orgs.
With the above said. I find the game very enjoyable. Even following a terrible team. It's all on the players & coaches now. As it should be! Gone are the days of Angel Hernandez or CB Buckner being the " star" of the game. It was turning baseball into the similar joke that the NFL & NBA have become.
One " non reviewable" shitty call/missed call on Sunday, is far too often the deciding factor. In a league where 1 extra loss caused by officiating is the difference between playoffs or golf vacation in week 19.
In the NBA? Why is dribbling even required anymore? Why is a pivot foot required? They'd improve the NBA by just playing arena league football with 5 aside & a round ball. A basket in lieu of a goal line.
The NCAA version of basketball is somewhat better... Unfortunately. There are far too many players in the NCAA for there to be a team to follow that doesn't have at least 50% of their games a complete skill set mismatch/ unfair competition.
I still don't understand why there isn't a pro curling league in America's current quality entertainment bereft landscape.
Less news channels & reality crap- less failure as a script crap on the screen... Maybe that would help return these 50 states into 1 United country. You know- like the name implies.
And thats the way it was. June, 2026.
