He says....
We are still a long way away from AI- or at least the public models, not being a constant brain fart, "WHOOPSIE".
Case in point. This morning with another miserable set of "mvtd" redults. I asked hal what tge heck was going on. So many of the games that i picked using the "gemini algorithm" I/we created on the platform seemed so far off my instincts... And low & behold. Yep. When questioned, Hal tells, me youre right. You caught. I failed to lock in the instructions and sequence correctly, i am still learning and i make mistakes"
Wtf?
What is the point?
The #1 simple rule of computer language. Prigraming is its 1 or zero. Current ir or current off. And every language runs on that principle. To create an algorithm one most follow a flow chart, and follow ever branch as the " yes/no" question you ask. In whatever programming language- creates one of 2 paths up the tree(algorithm). Its ligic. Thats all. Every language. Use logic, and when all questions up the tree land at an answer. Ine tgat you know should be the outcome( debugging) poof!

You test it a few more times asking variable questions of similar process/ subject. Knowing the answer you are attempting to arrive at... And when it double checks and triple chdcks.
You lock down that program, make a few copies as backup.
I learned...what feels like 150 years ago on the ancint transistors, tubes and tape drive memory that took up entire floors if a building. And the instuctions were typed into a card punch device, that spat punch cards i punch card to ask a qustion, and 2 more, to create the path of the answer, each with another card, default ...
Omg it was a long texious process. As is programming and debugging in the varios languages of the past 40 years be cobol, html or C++.
That is the attraction of AI. You tell the " hal" the question and oathways, the order if the ligic andvthe desired outcome... And Hal writes that 1000? 10,000? Perhaps million lines of code. Andvthen runs the raw data through. 5 seconds later. The answer.bimpressive concept...
Thebproblem? Halnis constantly misplacing the "punch" card for the sequence or running then out of order and in the midstbof trying to debug the problem. Suddenly he has lost everything," im sorry, i didnt save that" .. " would you like to repeat the instructions o
Lnao! r is there something else i can help you.
My fear, tbh. Isnt that AI will take over the many many jobs as predicted. Instead, the accurate fear is/ should be. That AI is the inept stoner student in the computer lab that is always misplacing his magnetic pass key. And when searching his pockets, drops he punch card bundle on ghe floor, and the rubber band breaks. Rendering 2 weeks of work meaningless and lost.
"Would you like to start over?.
