Just returned from a run on the 1998 ZX-9R. Bought it a year ago, but have only managed a few miles due to the knee problems. Even the Innova 125 was too much at times!
Got all the gear on, checked tyre pressures. Sta-Bil & the solar charger resulted in a near instant start on all four pots, & away I went. I'm fortunate enough to live just off the 'unofficial' Morgan test route, so I chose to do a few laps of that. This is my 3rd 9R, & looks pretty stock. But the PO, who had it for 20 years, had done some subtle mods. Ohlin's shock, RaceTech forks & a few others. It's also been geared down. When overtaking it really shows.
After that, much to my surprise the knees are only aching slightly. Shoulders are though, the riding position is a little extreme compared to the ANF125. And it has rearsets.
It is comparatively light & economical next to the Blackbird, so if one of them has to go...
