As I have said before on here I knew nothing about dad he died when I was four years old nothing was ever said about him as if he didn't exist through looking up the history I found out about his bravery at the Battle of Mametz Wood WW1 survived badly wounded and died when I was 3-4 years old
I now have acquired his medals and even the label tied on him from the battlefield.. also with help from his regiment exactly whare he was found on the battlefield.. unfortunately can't visit the site as its too dangerous and only found his grave Unmarked Mortlake Cemetery twenty years ago..Something for my children and grand children to carry on its all written down in box files..
