My Great Grandad was banished from the village where his ancestors had lived for years because he married a woman who had a "base born" child - "base born" meant that the Father was unknown.

When Great Grandad married this woman he was cast out from the family.

So Great Grandad ended up moving about 15 miles to a village on top of the Mendips, and that is where my Grandad live his entire life.

It is thanks to Dad that I know this to be fact.

It all turned full circle during my Dads life when we moved from the top of the Mendips back to within about 5 miles of where all my encestors came from.
